Announcing the Junior Advisory Board!
Confessions of a fabulis Intern Presents:
Blog Post #4: A Tad Bit of Youth!
Hey there, Mike here, this week there won’t be my usual wittiness, and hilarious commentary on my life here at fabulis (Sad I know). However, this post is a marathon of Member Spotlights. This week I am introducing you to the Junior Advisory Board, who along with Jason, Bradford, and our Executive Advisory Board, will work to make fabulis even better.
Some of you may recall a little ways back that we had a competition to become the fabulis Youth Advisor. However, the amount of participation, and enthusiasm for this competition inspired us to make it a board instead of just one person. Therefore we have five members, and Jason has asked me, Mike, to coordinate it. Below are bios for the board members, it is quite an accomplished group of people, and I am so very excited to work with them. Enjoy!

Dennis Busch is an event coordinator and political junkie from the tiny town of Hurricane, Utah. He graduated from Southern Utah University with a BS in Public Relations. He has been involved in a number of political endeavors, serving as communication director for the Michael O. Leavitt Center for Politics and Public Service, and as an intern for Senator Harry Reid. Dennis is also the founder and executive director of the multi-faith religious organization, eGRACE International. A member of fabulis since its launch in March, Dennis is very excited to join the fabulis Junior Advisory Board and help make this amazing website for gay men even better.

Ryan Caro, a native of Boston, has been called a “peregrinating scholar” by a teacher and “intellectually glamorous” by a friend. He currently lives in Istanbul, where he has completed a diploma in Turkish at Ankara University-Tömer, and is now working as a scholarly docent of walking seminars. Stateside, he is working towards a bachelor’s degree, most likely in Italian, at Yale University. He is thrilled to be joining the fabulis junior advisory board and looks forward to helping make fabulis a tool of great value to the gay community.

Dan Leveille is a developer and entrepreneur with a near-unhealthy addiction to the web and its social applications. Using his experience with the web and his involvement in the LGBT community, he is excited to offer his perspective to help move fabulis forward.
He has applied his passion for LGBT activism via the Internet, by starting Equalitopia.com, an application that will analyze the LGBT movement around the world. Dan also manages Equalitopia News, a blog covering equality issues.
Dan graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in New Media Interactive Development, and a double minor in Marketing and Communications. Dan currently works at deviantART.com as a Jr. Project Manager in the Marketing department.

“Bonjour! I’m Antonio Medina, a very fabulis Venezuelan. I’ve been kissing boys since kindergarten (I’m very serious). In a few months I’ll be starting one of the most significant experiences in my life, which is studying abroad in France for a year. When I return, I hope to study at NYU , majoring either in Political Science/Government or Philosophy. I love to travel and I have a peculiar obsession with Chipotle. What most excites me about collaborating with fabulis is the idea of helping shape the creation of a network that maximizes the opportunities of integration, in any given community.”

Gal Oppenheimer is a currently a senior at the University of Chicago majoring in Economics with a minor in Computer Science. This summer he is returning home to the Bay Area as a Marketing intern at VMware, Inc. Gal is an ex-President of U. Chicago’s Ballroom and Latin Dance Association but loves dancing to pretty much anything. When he is not dancing, watching movies, or with friends, Gal can be found in the kitchen cooking something new. In his free time, Gal blogs, explores Chicago, and avoids his homework on fabulis. He is excited to join the fabulis Junior Advisory Board, have the opportunity to meet new people, and help build a new fabulis social network!

Mike Piscadlo hails from New Jersey and is currently preparing for his final year at Quinnipiac University, where he is a Marketing Major with focuses in PR and Digital Design. Often referred to as a “social butterfly” by his friends and family, he finds his opportunity at fabulis to be ideal for his personality and skill set. Currently as the sole intern at fabulis he is responsible for assisting the two co-founders, Jason and Bradford, run fabulis to the best of its capabilities (dog walking is essential). At Quinnipiac he is the reigning Vice President of the American Marketing Association (Quinnipiac Chapter) and is proud to have two national awards under his tenure. Mike is honored to be part of this amazing team, and plans to remain an active contributor for as long as they let him. He hopes that along with his peers, he will be able to develop fabulis into a “must have” for the gay community.
On a personal note, I hope everyone has a wonderful Fourth of July (Shout out to the USA), and that you all had a fabulis pride month or are gearing up for yours. So this weekend be proud of your country, but more importantly be proud of who you are! Till next time…stay fabulis!
