Pune is fabulis
Hi everyone.
Jason here checking in from Pune, India.

You may be thinking “what the heck is team fabulis doing in Pune, India?”
Well, it turns out that we have a major development center in Pune. The same team that built socialmedian with me is working with me again on fabulis. That’s awesome because it means that we have 12 of the best software developers in the world building fabulis. This is actually my 16th time in Pune in the last 24 months, but who’s counting?
This week we’re continuing to work on the fabulis website and iPhone application as well as kicking things off on our Android app. You should have seen the smiles on the guys’ faces when I presented them with 2 Nexus One’s to play with today.
We’ll also be updating the fabulis.com homepage tomorrow to showcase more of the videos we have been receiving. They’re incredible. So inspiring. I’m pretty sure we’re going to switch entirely to YouTube from Vimeo for these videos too as we’ve been getting a lot of user requests for that. Vimeo hasn’t scaled the way we need it to for this type of solution. More on that soon.
BTW:
- Continential Airlines’ new business class seats: fab.
- Watching “The September Issue,” “Gandhi,” and 4 episodes of True Blood on the flight: fab.
- 14.5 hour flight from New York to Mumbai: over.
- 3 hour drive from Mumbai to Pune last night at midnight: over.
- Day 1 of 6 consecutive days hacking with the team here: fab.
- Authentic Indian food: fab.
- Getting dozens and dozens of user-generated videos on “what makes me fabulis:” fab.
I’ll be back tomorrow with a post regarding our plans for YouTube vs. Vimeo.
Alvida for now
